Mr. Williams received his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from Campbell University and graduated summa cum laude. He received a Master of Sciences in health sciences and a physician’s assistant certification from the Physician Assistant Program at The George Washington University.
Prior to becoming a physician’s assistant, Mr. Williams was an independent combat medic in the military. Training consisted of a rigorous 46-week course. The first twenty-four weeks focused on anatomy and physiology, paramedic training, advanced cardiac life support and advanced trauma life support enabling Mr. Williams to provide basic primary care and sustain a combat casualty for several days. The remaining weeks of training consisted of specialized training in medical, surgical, dental, veterinary, laboratory, pharmaceutical and preventative medicine with focus on honing skills to be an independent, general practice healthcare provider.
Prior to pursuing a specialty in orthopaedics, Mr. Williams worked in a rural family practice and urgent care clinic in northern California treating patients with a vast array of medical problems. Additionally, Mr. Williams worked in a large orthopaedic practice in Maine gaining vast knowledge and experience in sports medicine and general orthopaedics. He also assisted in orthopaedic surgery, including trauma, hand and upper extremity, shoulder and knee arthroscopic and reconstructive, spine surgery, total joint, and foot and ankle.
Mr. Williams joined Countryside Orthopaedics, P.C. in June 2007. He is NCCPA certified, licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Physician’s Assistants. He is a member of the reserves in the National
Guard participating as a PA. |
