Laura received her B.S. in occupational therapy from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA in 1992. She is licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine and is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapy. She has been providing her expertise in hand therapy to Eastern and Western Loudoun County for over 15 years.
Originally from Pennsylvania, she began her career in outpatient rehabilitation with a focus on work hardening and hand therapy. She moved to Virginia in 1994, working as an on-site industrial rehab therapist for an innovative program launched by Liberty Mutual. She performed job task analysis, ergonomic modification and transition programs for injured workers.
In 1996, she took a position at Hand Therapy Specialists in the Vienna and Sterling clinics. Here she developed her proficiency in custom splinting and the treatment of traumatic hand injuries. In 2002, she established hand therapy programs for Leesburg Physical Therapy in the Purcellville, Leesburg and Lansdowne clinics.
She prides her self on listening to the individualized needs of her patients and achieving consistent functional results. She values an open communication with referring physicians.
Laura has been a Leesburg resident for over 10 years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. |
